Classic Kids, or films the kids in your life have to see by 13 or else!
Day 38  Bringing up Baby (1938)

This is a funny, silly, absurd movie.  I first saw this on campus as a teen and laughed so hard I felt faint.  Bringing up Baby is just one of the many situation comedy films, now called screwball comedies, produced during the depression.  The film stars Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant, so that alone should get you to watch; but then there are some of the best character actors of the era, from May Robson, Charles Ruggles to Barry Fitzgerald.
Themes:  Consequences, mis-communication, goals, humor
Media Literacy Questions for kids: Is there a moral to this story? Why is this film considered a comedy?  What obstacles did the characters face? When was this film made, and how can you tell?  How did the film makers get a leopard to perform?
