Day 60: Hans Christian Anderson (1952)
Hans Christian Anderson is a splashy comedy fantasy musical, that stars Danny Kaye has the famous Danish Story teller. The film references many of Hans Christian Anderson's stories, but has little to do with the actual man's life. It doesn't matter, with a Moss Hart-Myles Connolly screenplay, the film is silly, fun, dramatic and joyful. There is also a Frank Loesser score that includes songs such as "Inchworm," and "Thumbelina." Nominated for five Oscars, the film was a huge box office success.
