Meeeeeeeeery Christmas!

A bit of cheer from Judy and then David.

First Judy Garland in one of my favorite film scenes, from Meet Me In St. Louis (1944).  Of course one starts with her voice and delivery all enhanced by the lighting, the close framing of her face, the mise en scene (including Judy's beautiful scarf-that I have wanted someone to make me forever) all tucked away in the midst of the films general brilliance.

Then we have the mixture of two very different singing icons, uniting for a bit of cheer-David Bowie and (what the heck) Bing Crosby.  It is a tad odd, but that's what makes it fun.  This was shot in the Early 1970s, when Bing Crosby, a legendary 'crooner'   pre-Sinatra, had a television special every Christmas.  This year he invited as his guest David Bowie.  I know, ah!  At this time, Bowie was right in the middle of Ziggy Stardust and his whole Rock-Glam period, but took off the eye-liner to sing with Crosby.  Enjoy!

Jojo's favorites:  A scene from "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946) & from the TV special "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" (1970)
